If you play Hades and don't get what you want, you still get a decent run that allows you to play around it. I disagree for one reason, mostly: Isaac is not a mechanics-focused game in the sense that you can just beat any run as long as you are very good. That's why the sudden difficulty spike after years of little to no challenge in Repentance is a bit jarring for some. I don't know who you're trying to fool but Isaac has always been "baby's first roguelike" in terms of difficulty. If I wanted that I would have played a different game. So you can't really blame people for being upset that the games core identity and overall difficulty just completely changed overnight after years of being consistent.įor me personally, I didn't play Rebirth for the 500+ hours I did because I was looking for a challenging, hardcore roguelike experience. Yes flash Isaac was hard, but Rebirth isn't flash isaac.

A fairly easy roguelike that lets you get powerful very quickly and easily. I think my big issue is that thats EXACTLY what Rebirth has been for all these years. It's not supposed to be a casual game where you one shot every enemy in the room instantly on 95% of your runs.
